Oh Peggy! ~ The magic that is Royal Vintage Shoes

Its time for me to share another amazing shoe from Royal Vintage Shoe's first range! (I must apologise for the delay in getting this out. It seems my bloggers scheduling function on has been having a few issues recently.) As I said in my first post about this gorgeous range, that this collection is something I'm incredibly excited about, especially as I've been getting more and ore into 1940's styling. In this blog I'm sharing the Peggy Heels in brown and white, which are quickly becoming a favourite of mine.

The Peggy is a two tone heel which I absolutely adore for its versatility. Designed by Lauren of Royal Vintage Shoes, these amazing shoes are based on real styles of 1940's shoe. They feature a subtle broguing, these shoes ooze elegance and class in the most simplistic way. The Two Tone is such a striking feature and really helps them match a variety of different looks. The white truly is a stunning bright white, which is something I love in a shoe and the detail on the toe is truly beautiful. I've tried to get as many angles to showcase these shoes in all their glory. They truly are beautiful.

The Peggy heels features a 3 inch Cuban heel, which is great for stability and comfort. I can wear these all day (with the exception of my morning and afternoon walk to and from the station, because it’s such a trek heels are impractical) and not have any aches or pains. Made of leather these shoes are incredibly comfortable and offer great arch support, which means less aches and pains and more time spent looking fabulous!

Sizing wise, it is recommended for people with a standard size foot to size down half a size. However, once broken in I found that the next size down for me would have been too tight across the front of my foot (I’m quite wide there) and that my true size was the right size for me. To break them in I wore them around the house for an evening or two with my partners thick socks on. That was all they needed. I’ve had no blisters at all from these shoes, which is amazing and I can comfortably wear them with or without stockings. They’re such a great shoe I’ve now ordered them in the black colourway, as I feel they’ll be the perfect match for so many outfits as I delve more and more into my 1940’s styling!

These amazing Peggy shoes retail for $150USD, which I can vouch is TOTALLY worth the price. These are high quality leather, comfortable and incredibly well made.  The attention to detail is absolutely spot on and with another pair from this range to review, I cannot sing the praises of this first collection enough. For ladies who love a more authentic look, these shoes are a must. They are also great for office gals as they are a good size and appropriate design.

Royal Vintage Shoes ships worldwide and stock a variety of shoes in their store as well as their own range! I cannot wait to share my next favourite from this range with you all, as they are such a truly stunning and elegant pair of shoes. Don’t forget to follow Royal Vintage on Instagram and facebook to keep up to date with all whats happening with her store as well as her own blog adventures!

I hope you’ve all loved this review dolls!

Til next time!

Bath Bomb Bonanza with Tabitha's Bath Boutique

Its no secret I'm a water baby! I love a good bath as much as I love mermaiding and for me, being in water whether its in the bathroom or recreationally means a place of calming. So, when I was contacted by the lovely Tabitha to collaborate with her on her new store on Etsy Tabitha's Bath Boutique , naturally I said yes! And in no time at all I had a parcel of delicious bath goodies arriving at my door!

I was so overwhelmed and excited. When I opened the box a mix of delicious smells instantly invaded my nose and I found myself looking forward to my trip home. In my parcel pack was the following:

I must admit, that the timing for this parcel was beyond perfect. On the end of my 2 week stint of not having hot water, I found myself on the way home with a box of bath bombs and a brand new working hot water system! I was a tad excited! For my first bath I opted to use the Fairy Dust Fizzy Bath Spinkles, as the smell was just calling to me!

I could see very quickly why it was called fairy dust and it smelt so amazing! I popped around a quarter of the container into the bath! While it didn't colour it like a lush bath bomb did, the feeling of being in the water, surrounded by the smells was lovely and my skin was silky smooth when I got out! I absolutely adore this fairy dust and it’s something I’ll be getting more of in the future! The reusable containers are also a great idea! I already plan on using one to try and rectify my loose bobby pin problem!

Trying out the bath bomb was next on my list!

I popped it in the bath when it was just under half full and it fizzed away, tinging the bath water a soft pink and once again filling my little bathroom with such lovely smells. I spent a good hour sitting in the bath on this occasion, topping up the water to keep it warm. The smells stayed throughout my entire pamper session and it left me feeling very calm which lead to a really good nights sleep!

As someone who is prone to muscle soreness due to how much I sit at my job (an unfortunate requirement of my office job) and my legs and hip muscles can get quite tender by the end of the week.  Baths and showers for me are a way to not only manage my anxiety but to help keep my body happy.

Now I will admit, peppermint isn’t really my thing. I don’t enjoy the taste and can sometimes find the smell to be a bit too bold for my senses. But, I am so glad I braved the Peppermint Bath Milkshake. Sitting in the bath, I could feel the peppermint working through my aching muscles. It was incredibly soothing to sit there, feeling the warmth work into my muscles and I felt amazingly refreshed when I finished up. I’d LOVE to try this in the lavender scent! I feel like it would be an incredible before bed bath milkshake!

The bubble-gum soap, omg what a sensory overload. This was the first thing I smelt when I opened up the box at my desk at work. When you getting your scrub on in the shower with it, the smell seems to invade the steam til you are in bubble gum smelling heaven. As someone who suffers from sensitive skin, I was initially a little hesitant about this soap as I know how cranky my skin can be. But I had no noticeable reaction to it and I went about my day smelling like a bubble gum princess! It REALLY is a shame you can’t share smells over the internet!

For Australian ladies looking to support small businesses and who like their bath time as well as wonderful smells, I can strongly recommend Tabitha's Bath Boutique! Her items are affordable, hand made and absolutely lovely. At present, her items are only available to Australian gals!

To buy her items you can head to her store on etsy by clicking here!

You can also find her on instragam as well!

I hope you've all enjoyed this blog post and as always, I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have either in the comments below or on posts on my other social media!

Step into swing with Pinup Girl Clothing Doris Pants

I’m going to start this blog post darlings, by saying you cannot believe how difficult swing pants are to get decent photos of! I’ve been trying for MONTHS to get good enough pictures of these incredible pants to review them and I just kept coming up short. These pants are so beautiful, with the flowing crepe and the wide leg, that they were hard to photograph so you could see their details, the little things that make them amazing. But, I finally managed it and here they are!

Flowers ~ Yellow double from Daisy Jean Floral Designs
Earrings ~ Retro Hilary earrings in fine gold glitter from Daisy Jean Floral Designs
Brooch ~ Yellow ribbon gold fish brooch by Luxulite from Coconette-Oz
Top ~ Robin top in antique green from Collectif
Pants ~ Doris Swing Pants in Black from Pinup Girl Clothing
Shoes ~ Saddle shoes from Royal Vintage Shoes
Have you ever seen a store you follow post a preview and know almost instantly how much you need it? Like the need is almost primal? That’s the reaction I had to those pants. From the moment I saw the sneak peak online, I knew I needed to have them! I put the notification reminder on my pinupgirlclothing account and when they were released I did a mini clear out of things I don’t wear anymore and used the money to take the plunge and buy them. My wait wasn’t long, with my fastest ever pug deliver EVER (ordered Thursday night and arrived Tuesday morning) and I was so incredibly excited when I unwrapped them once I was home. The crepe came flowing out of the bag like magic and I hurriedly put them on to find…my feet surrounded by a heap of extra fabric.

Now I had been expecting as much. I was nervous about the sizing, as I’m normally a large on the bottom half with PUG in skirts but pants have always been trickier to gauge. So I opted to size up to the XL to play it safe. Now for reference, I’m 165cm tall. So I’m not exactly short short but I’m hardly tall.  This meant that even with platform heels on, I still had drag on the bottom. So before I could wear them properly I took myself to the local alterations store and had them hemmed, so that I could wear them with flats as well as heels. The alterations set me back around $30, as the pants are lined so there were two layers and I was thrilled to have them back and fitting my shorter frame within 24 hours! I bought my Doris pants direct from Pinup girl clothing and with the exchange rate they cost me $173AUD ($128USD) + the $30US fedex.

So what can I tell you about the PUG Doris pants? Firstly, I can tell you they are amazingly comfortable. These pants are made of a pebble crepe which gives them a wonderful vintage feel. They are also fully lined which makes them an incredible winter pant as not only are they comfortable they are warm. They feature an elastic back and a rear zip, which leaves you looking smooth at the front while also allowing some give. I adore wearing these when I’m feeling a bit bloated as they smooth everything out and the elastic allows them to still fit comfortably. The Doris pants also feature POCKETS! Which we all know are a win for any girl. The pockets in the Doris pants are deep and practical because let’s be honest, no one likes impractical pockets! I am so incredibly happy I took the chance and bought them! Absolutely no regrets!

The styling of these pants is also incredible! I’ve worn it dressed up with a more formal style top. I’ve worn it casual with a knit top or a retro tee. I’ve worn them with printed blouses. Their black colour makes them incredible versatile to style. The ultimate 1940’s pants for ladies who want a pair that can do it all! For my shoot I went casual with my styling, opting to team it with more muted tones of soft green and yellow and a more classic styling of a saddle shoe.

I hope you've all enjoyed this blog post! As always, I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have in the comments on this post or on my social media pages! I truly do love these pants and hope to be bringing you some more PUG reviews soon!

Til next time darlings!

Tropical 1940s Florals from Karina Dresses

I think by now we all know my obsession with 1940's styling is well and truly beginning to thrive. As I've been shifting out 1950's items from my wardrobe that I knew I wouldn't wear anymore, I've been adding in more and more 1940's inspired items to my wardrobe and I've been absolutely loving the experience. There is something about the 1940's that just keeps drawing me in. Its elegance, its sophistication, its class. I always feel absolutely incredible in 1940s styling, so when I saw the Margaret Dress in Navy and White tropics, I knew I needed to make it mine!

The first thing that drew my to the margaret dress was this pattern! Karina dresses are available in multiple different patterns but this one for me just looked for incredibly true to the decade. As my 40's obsession grows, I've been doing a LOT of reading up on characteristics of patterns of that era and this one for me screamed 1940s. The pattern is actually even prettier in person than the pictures, the navy works so well with the fabric and the white really does pop beautifully!

Flowers ~ Red Rose Double from Daisy Jean Floral Designs
Earrings ~ Bryona Earrings in Cobalt from Revere Folie
Necklace ~ Yellow beads from Debstar Designs
Brooch ~ Scotty Dog brooch from Miss Lady A Broad
Sunglasses ~ Jayjays 4 years ago
Dress ~ Margaret Dress in navy and white tropics from Karina Dresses
Shoes ~ Red Loraine heels from Royal Vintage Shoes
For those who aren't familar with Karina dresses, they are a stunning USA brand that make dresses that for me, hark back to the 1940s in their stying and they are iron free, as they dry crease free. Another feature I love about my Karina Dresses is they fit incredibly well thanks to them simply pulling over your head: no zips or bunching around zips which leads to a seamless silhouette. If I ever want comfort and class, Karina Dresses are my go to! I now have 4 of their gorgeous creations in my wardrobe and they get a lot of wear.

One thing I do adore about the Margaret dress is the length. The slightly longer length gives a more authentic shape to the dress as well as giving the wearer a nicer shape. The Margaret Dress also features a built in belt/sash of the same fabric, which I love using the cinch in the waist. The sleeve length is also ideal for ladies who, like me carry a bit of weight on their arms, as they are long enough and loose enough to help slim you down.

I'm wearing their M/L which is my regular size. I find this to be incredibly ample and in reality I could more than likely size down to the S/M without any issues as their dresses have a considerable amount of stretch. If you enjoy comfort and style, Karina dresses are a brand to keep you eyes on. These dresses are amazing for summer (they are incredibly light!!) but for winter I do wear a full slip with them, for that extra layer, ontop of my normal shapewear really does make a difference!

I love styling this dress. Red with the navy and white just absolutely pops and I often find myself throwing in hints of yellow as well to really lift it. For the styling of my shoot I opted for my red rose double from my business Daisy Jean Floral Designs. The red here tied in beautifully with the red background of my brooch and my shoes. The Scotty Dog brooch from Miss Lady A Broad is the perfect 1940's addition to my outfit. As I aim more for authentic styling, I find myself getting SO much wear out of my MIss Lady A Broad brooches. They have such a true vintage look about them and really do go with anything! I have a blog review of Miss Lady A Broad coming to my blog later this month!

Loraine Heels from Royal Vintage Shoes

The Bryona earrings in cobalt from Revere Folie were also the perfect match for this outfit, as if they were made for it! I reviewed these gorgeous earrings recently on my blog, you can read the review by clicking here. My red Loraine heels were also a perfect red pop and I actually find myself wearing these shoes more and more as they just go with SO much!

The Margaret dress retails for $108US which is around $146AUS. I can give testament that these dresses are definitely worth the money and for pinups on the go Karina dresses would be ideal for their versatility and iron free maintenance! They ship worldwide and their styles are available in a range of different patterns!

I hope you've all enjoyed this blog! I'm endevouring at the moment to bring better blog posts to you all and I really feel like my blog is getting to where I always wanted it to be!

Resin accessories from Deluxe Creations

Deluxe Creations is an Australian Australian small business who I recently decided to make a purchase from, after seeing my friend Ruby purchase from them. As a small business owner myself, I decided to make a more active effort in 2016 to start supporting other small businesses and I must admit, my expectations were exceeded with Deluxe Creations.

Resin Dachshund brooch from Deluxe Creations
Deluxe Creations comes to you from Perth Australia, created by the lovely Samantha and her husband. Their aim was to bring retro inspired jewelry that suit their vision to people and I think they did a marvellous job! I placed my first order for a pair of earrings and was delightfully surprised when my first order arrived and I found a cute little extra brooch had been sent along as well.

My parcel arrived in good time and I soon had my box of goodies in my hands! I was delighted to see such gorgeous packaging and attention to detail. They arrived beautifully wrapped in tissue paper and ribbon. I loved the different shape of the earrings. I purposely ordered earrings outside what I normally wear and what drew me to them was their gorgeous blend of colour. The adorable dachshund brooch was such a lovely added extra!

The earrings are made of resin, both clear and colored as well as glitter. They feature two tear drop shapes, one smaller for the ears and one that hangs down. I got mine in stud backs, as I have my ears pierced. The blue and pink glitter is blended at the front on a clear layer of resin with a solid pink colour resin in the back.

To wear I found them to be incredibly comfortable, which for me is really important. They didn’t impede on my ability to use the phone, which is a must for my work. The only downside was that my right earring had a habit of hanging sideways, but this is an issue with my ear more so than the earring. Overall I’m incredibly happy with my new earrings and hope to have opportunities to wear them more in the future!

It’s hard to believe with such a massive brooch collection in my drawer, that I didn’t own a dachshund brooch! But this lovely surprise from Samantha certainly fixed that! I wasn’t expecting anything other than my earrings and was pleasantly surprised when I opened it to find this little guy along with my earrings! His gold colouring makes him a versatile piece to style and I’ve been loving him with my more preppy styled outfits recently (see above). I cannot wait to try and style him different ways!

If you are after well-made resin jewelry with a vintage flare that are limited edition, than I strongly suggest you check Deluxe Creations out! I paid $12.60AUD for my earrings (using a 30% coupon code from one of their Instagram sales!) and shipping was $7.50AUD which came with tracking.

You can find deluxe creations on:

A little black dress. Something so very timeless, classic and sexy about it, yet its something that up until recently has been incredibly under-represented in my wardrobe. In reality, I actually tend to steer clear of black. I find it to be a bit too bland for my liking and I prefer brighter happier colours. However, when seeing the Patti dress in black from Karina Dresses, I knew I had to give it a try!

Flowers ~ Red Rose Double from Daisy Jean Floral Designs
Beads ~ Vintage
Brooch ~ Marilyn Brooch from Deer Arrow
Dress ~ Patti Dress in Black Pointe from Karina Dresses
Belt ~ Off another dress
Shoes ~ Red Lorraine Heels by B.A.I.T Footwear from Royal Vintage Shoes
The Patti dress is a straight cut dress made of black pointe. As with all Karina Dresses, this beauty is crease free with no need to iron. Simply hand to dry after a wash! Karina Dresses also don't have zips, you simply pull them on which is also a feature I adore as I find sometimes zips can bunch and wrinkle the fabric around them. This dress also features pockets, which is amazing for a wiggle style because honestly, who doesn't love pockets in anything!

The Patti dress also features a square neckline with short sleeves. I likes this shape as I found it could lend itself to both casual and formal looks, while being practical for work. The just above the knee length is also a great versatile length for functionality and practicality.

I got this dress in a M/L, to accommodate my rather fuller lower half which is my normal size for my Karina dresses! Surprisingly, I didn't find the shoulders too loose which is a huge win as they normally are. This dress is comfortable to wear and flattering with or without foundations.

I absolutely LOVE the styling options for this dress as well! For this shoot I decided to go with red and white, as I feel they contrast SO well against the black. By belting with such a bright colour it really does highlight the smaller waist. I also love how my Marilyn Brooch from Deer Arrow absolutely pops out from the black background of this dress. My red Daisy Jean Floral Designs Signature Rose Doubles also help bring this look into more of a formal feel.

This dress retails for $108USD which is around $142AUD. I can attest that the price tag is totally worth it! This is my third Karina Dresses dress and I absolutely love them! They are so incredibly comfortable, versatile and practical! And they do ship worldwide!

I hope you've all enjoyed this review! As always, I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have if you pop them in the notes!
