Bath Bomb Bonanza with Tabitha's Bath Boutique

Its no secret I'm a water baby! I love a good bath as much as I love mermaiding and for me, being in water whether its in the bathroom or recreationally means a place of calming. So, when I was contacted by the lovely Tabitha to collaborate with her on her new store on Etsy Tabitha's Bath Boutique , naturally I said yes! And in no time at all I had a parcel of delicious bath goodies arriving at my door!

I was so overwhelmed and excited. When I opened the box a mix of delicious smells instantly invaded my nose and I found myself looking forward to my trip home. In my parcel pack was the following:

I must admit, that the timing for this parcel was beyond perfect. On the end of my 2 week stint of not having hot water, I found myself on the way home with a box of bath bombs and a brand new working hot water system! I was a tad excited! For my first bath I opted to use the Fairy Dust Fizzy Bath Spinkles, as the smell was just calling to me!

I could see very quickly why it was called fairy dust and it smelt so amazing! I popped around a quarter of the container into the bath! While it didn't colour it like a lush bath bomb did, the feeling of being in the water, surrounded by the smells was lovely and my skin was silky smooth when I got out! I absolutely adore this fairy dust and it’s something I’ll be getting more of in the future! The reusable containers are also a great idea! I already plan on using one to try and rectify my loose bobby pin problem!

Trying out the bath bomb was next on my list!

I popped it in the bath when it was just under half full and it fizzed away, tinging the bath water a soft pink and once again filling my little bathroom with such lovely smells. I spent a good hour sitting in the bath on this occasion, topping up the water to keep it warm. The smells stayed throughout my entire pamper session and it left me feeling very calm which lead to a really good nights sleep!

As someone who is prone to muscle soreness due to how much I sit at my job (an unfortunate requirement of my office job) and my legs and hip muscles can get quite tender by the end of the week.  Baths and showers for me are a way to not only manage my anxiety but to help keep my body happy.

Now I will admit, peppermint isn’t really my thing. I don’t enjoy the taste and can sometimes find the smell to be a bit too bold for my senses. But, I am so glad I braved the Peppermint Bath Milkshake. Sitting in the bath, I could feel the peppermint working through my aching muscles. It was incredibly soothing to sit there, feeling the warmth work into my muscles and I felt amazingly refreshed when I finished up. I’d LOVE to try this in the lavender scent! I feel like it would be an incredible before bed bath milkshake!

The bubble-gum soap, omg what a sensory overload. This was the first thing I smelt when I opened up the box at my desk at work. When you getting your scrub on in the shower with it, the smell seems to invade the steam til you are in bubble gum smelling heaven. As someone who suffers from sensitive skin, I was initially a little hesitant about this soap as I know how cranky my skin can be. But I had no noticeable reaction to it and I went about my day smelling like a bubble gum princess! It REALLY is a shame you can’t share smells over the internet!

For Australian ladies looking to support small businesses and who like their bath time as well as wonderful smells, I can strongly recommend Tabitha's Bath Boutique! Her items are affordable, hand made and absolutely lovely. At present, her items are only available to Australian gals!

Resin accessories from Deluxe Creations

Deluxe Creations is an Australian Australian small business who I recently decided to make a purchase from, after seeing my friend Ruby purchase from them. As a small business owner myself, I decided to make a more active effort in 2016 to start supporting other small businesses and I must admit, my expectations were exceeded with Deluxe Creations.

Resin Dachshund brooch from Deluxe Creations
Deluxe Creations comes to you from Perth Australia, created by the lovely Samantha and her husband. Their aim was to bring retro inspired jewelry that suit their vision to people and I think they did a marvellous job! I placed my first order for a pair of earrings and was delightfully surprised when my first order arrived and I found a cute little extra brooch had been sent along as well.

My parcel arrived in good time and I soon had my box of goodies in my hands! I was delighted to see such gorgeous packaging and attention to detail. They arrived beautifully wrapped in tissue paper and ribbon. I loved the different shape of the earrings. I purposely ordered earrings outside what I normally wear and what drew me to them was their gorgeous blend of colour. The adorable dachshund brooch was such a lovely added extra!

The earrings are made of resin, both clear and colored as well as glitter. They feature two tear drop shapes, one smaller for the ears and one that hangs down. I got mine in stud backs, as I have my ears pierced. The blue and pink glitter is blended at the front on a clear layer of resin with a solid pink colour resin in the back.

To wear I found them to be incredibly comfortable, which for me is really important. They didn’t impede on my ability to use the phone, which is a must for my work. The only downside was that my right earring had a habit of hanging sideways, but this is an issue with my ear more so than the earring. Overall I’m incredibly happy with my new earrings and hope to have opportunities to wear them more in the future!

It’s hard to believe with such a massive brooch collection in my drawer, that I didn’t own a dachshund brooch! But this lovely surprise from Samantha certainly fixed that! I wasn’t expecting anything other than my earrings and was pleasantly surprised when I opened it to find this little guy along with my earrings! His gold colouring makes him a versatile piece to style and I’ve been loving him with my more preppy styled outfits recently (see above). I cannot wait to try and style him different ways!

If you are after well-made resin jewelry with a vintage flare that are limited edition, than I strongly suggest you check Deluxe Creations out! I paid $12.60AUD for my earrings (using a 30% coupon code from one of their Instagram sales!) and shipping was $7.50AUD which came with tracking.

Memorising Merlot ~ Lipstick by Style by Divine

Hello Darlings!

So I've finally got some lighting for my indoor photos sorted which means I can start reviewing smaller things like cosmetics and what not with quality photos! This is something I'm incredibly excited about!

My first proper make up review is on the Merlot lipstick from Style by Divine

I've been a long time follower of Stephanie on social Media like Instagram and facebook, as she used to work at Australian Pin Up Store Miskonduct and this was how I found her myself.  Located in Newcastle Australia, she has since left Miskonduct to focus on growing her own small business based around vintage hair/make up styling, beauty and now her own cosmetics line. I'd previously bought some McArthur Skin Care products from her, to help better manage my incredibly sensitive skin, which have been amazing.

As someone who is forever hunting for new lipstick shades to use in my outfits, I was incredibly excited when I saw she was releasing her own range of cosmetics. I dropped her a message and ordered her new Lipstick in Merlot, as I'd been after a more pinky red for days I didn't want the bold reds of my Besame Cosmetics Shades.

It was shipped the day after ordering and I had it within 3 days of making my purchase, even with regular postage! The colour was gorgeous even within the tube and I've worn it a few times now before this review so I can give my most accurate feedback on this product!

The colour came through as a very pretty blend of a darker red and a pink. It went on very smooth with ease and I was able to apply it with my usual straight from the stick and then outlining with a lipstick brush afterwards. It texture is quite creamy and while it is a 'matte' lipstick, I found it creamier and with more shine than some of my other matte lipstick products.  I tend to wear my lipsticks without a lip liner most days (I currently only have a red liner so need to expand my colour base there) and still found this lipstick sat well with minimal bleed, which is fantastic as bleeding is something I normally have issues with. It also didn’t dry my lips out throughout the day, which is something I always feel is important (because dry cracked lips are never fun!)

The colour was perfect for some of my more 1940’s style outfits and I found it was also a good option for days when I didn’t want something overly bold but something that wasn’t a light colour or a pastel.  It has a creamy texture which does mean it will transfer if touched, but I found it stayed quite well even after eating with minimal movement outside of my lip area. I took progress photos of its wear throughout a day to demonstrate its wear below (please excuse my somewhat awkward lip positions, my lips are something I've never really photographed before!). As you can see, even though it did come off a but through the middle, I was able to eat 3 meals before it even began to bleed at the edges, which in my opinion is a total win!

I’ve also found it to be an incredibly versatile colour to style! Here are 4 different wasn’t I’ve worn the same lipstick in the past week and a half! Its such a beautiful colour and definitely one I can see myself wearing a lot in the future!

All of Stephanie’s cosmetics are made in Australia and not tested on animals and are a cruelty free product. I paid $20AUD for my lipstick as well as regular postage costs. Its so great to see a local Australian business bringing such lovely products to the Australian Pinup Scene, especially with how expensive buying from overseas can be atm with the poor Australian Dollar. I'd highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a nice basic lipstick that wears well and is well made. I simply love mine and can see it getting a lot of wear in my wardrobe!

I hope you've all enjoyed this review and I look forward to hopefully bringing you more like this in the future! If you have any questions I'm more than happy to answer them, simply leave it on my Instagram post about this review or pop it in the comments below!
